WHAT IS SOCIAL MEDIA?

             This is a website, application or online channel that enables web users to create, co-create, discuss, modify, and exchange user-generated content. Also, it is the collective of online communications channels dedicated to community-based input, interaction, content-sharing and collaboration.

               Internet-based software and interfaces that allow individuals to interact with one another, exchanging details about their lives such as biographical data, professional information, personal photos and up-to-the-minute thoughts.

          Social media originated as strictly a personal tool that people used to interact with friends and family but were later adopted by businesses that wanted to take advantage of a popular new communication method to reach out to customers, for example, by informing them of sales and offering them special coupons.

            These are sites that allow users to post their own news items or links to other new sources.

4. MEDIA SHARING

           These are the sites that allow you to upload and share media content like music, images and video.

5. MICROBLOGGING
             These sites focuses on short updates from the user.

6. BLOGS AND FORUMS

             These sites allow users to post their content. Other users are able to comment on the said topic.
